Méribel in September: Summer Is Ending… But We Still Have Two Moules Frites Nights Left!

Summer is slowly coming to an end in Méribel.

The big weeks of July and August are behind us, the summer lifts are wrapping up, and the mountains are starting to settle back into a quieter rhythm.

But in Méribel Village, we are not quite ready to say goodbye to summer just yet.

We still have two Moules Frites & Live Music evenings left at La Terrasse du Village before we close out our summer 2026 season: pianist Freddy Wilkens on Thursday 3 September, followed by Lightwoods Duo on Thursday 10 September for our FINAL Moules Frites night of the summer.

And if you are thinking of booking at the last minute, a little warning: last week was fully booked several days in advance.

So this time, we really do recommend booking early.

What Is There to Do in Méribel in September?

September is a slightly different time of year in Méribel.

The main summer season comes to an end, the lifts close, some businesses move into interseason, and the busy summer programme begins to quieten down. But that certainly does not mean there is nothing left to do.

Quite the opposite.

Early September can be one of the loveliest times to enjoy Méribel. The trails are quieter, the temperatures are often perfect for walking, sunny terraces still have plenty of appeal, and the whole valley finally starts to slow down a little. For locals, property owners and anyone lucky enough to be visiting Méribel at this time of year, it is a completely different side of mountain life.

And at La Terrasse du Village, we stay open all year round.

The Final Moules Frites Nights of the Summer in Méribel

Anyone who knows La Terrasse knows that Thursday night has become a bit of a ritual.

Moules. Frites. Live music.

Over the years, our Moules Frites nights have become one of our favourite summer traditions in Méribel Village: big plates of moules-frites, friends around the table, live music and a terrace that gets busier as the evening goes on.

Once again this summer, you have joined us in huge numbers every Thursday.

So many, in fact, that last week was completely sold out several days before the event.

And now there are only two left.

Thursday 3 September: Moules Frites with Freddy Wilkens

On Thursday 3 September, we welcome Freddy Wilkens on piano for the penultimate Moules Frites night of the summer.

From 7pm, settle in for moules-frites and an evening of live music with Freddy.

One last little taste of summer, even if the calendar is already starting to tell us otherwise.

Thursday 10 September: The FINAL with Lightwoods

And eventually, we have to reach the last Thursday.

On 10 September, we officially close our summer 2026 Moules Frites nights with Lightwoods Duo.

This is the FINAL Moules Frites of the summer.

One last chance to enjoy the simple combination that works so well: big tables, generous portions of moules-frites, live music and a proper evening in Méribel Village.

And because the final dates have been particularly popular, we really recommend booking your table now if you want to join us for the finale.

Why Visit Méribel in September?

Because Méribel does not simply stop when the school holidays end.

Early September can still bring beautiful days for walking, cycling and enjoying the mountains, but without the crowds of August.

The trails around Méribel Village remain there to explore, the valley becomes noticeably quieter, and the whole resort moves into a much slower pace.

It is also the time of year when you start seeing more locals than holidaymakers again.

And, to be fair, there is something very nice about being able to sit down on a terrace after a walk without feeling like the entire resort had exactly the same idea.

Fancy a Walk Before Moules Frites?

If you are coming to Méribel Village especially for the evening, why not arrive a little earlier?

Several walks start directly from or close to the village.

You can head towards Le Plantin, walk down towards Les Allues, or climb through the forest towards the Altiport.

September is particularly lovely for these kinds of walks: fewer people, softer light and the very first signs that autumn is on its way.

Then head back to Méribel Village.

At which point, the plan gets much simpler:

Moules. Frites. A glass of wine. Music.

We have heard worse ways to finish a walk.

Where Can You Eat in Méribel in September?

This is one of the questions that comes up every year once interseason begins.

Which restaurants are still open in Méribel in September?

Some businesses in the resort close between the summer and winter seasons, but La Terrasse du Village stays open all year round in Méribel Village.

So you can still join us for lunch, dinner or drinks after the official summer season has finished.

Our menu changes with the seasons, but the idea remains the same: generous food, a relaxed atmosphere and somewhere both locals and visitors can meet whatever the time of year.

And this September, there are still two particularly important Thursdays to put in your diary.

But we are not there just yet.

We still have two Thursdays left to make the most of one of our favourite summer traditions in Méribel Village.
